Meet the Teacher
Hello, welcome to Keyboarding. My name is Claudia Batichon (aka "Mrs. Batichon"). It is very easy to pronounce my name. It is French, but you can easily say it as "Mrs. Baa-da-sean". I was born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, but came to the United States at the age of eight. I grew up in Miami, Florida and have had the opportunity to live in many different states. My husband and our children have lived in North Carolina, Georgia, Iowa, Oklahoma, and now South Carolina (don't forget Haiti and Florida). I received my Bachelor of Science from Appalachian State University, my Master of Science from Georgia Southern University, and I am currently working on my Doctorate of Philosophy at Northcentral University. My husband, Coach Batichon, is a middle school Special Education Resource Teacher and a varsity football coach in Spartanburg District 4. Together, we have three children (age 7, 3, and 17 months), a three-year-old Golden Retriever (Scout), and a five-month-old Chihuahua/Poodle (Harley) . My favorite color is crimson and creme because I am a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. I love music, especially R&B, Hip Hop, Gospel, and Jazz. I am a gymnastics mom and a die-hard football fan. Furthermore, my favorite song is "The Greatest Love of All" by Whitney Houston. I am excited to have your child in my class. It will be a very exciting and fun school year. I believe in parent-teacher communication. Please feel free to contact me anytime by email or telephone.
"Greatest Love Of All"
I believe the children are our future
Teach them well and let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty they possess inside
Give them a sense of pride to make it easier
Let the children's laughter remind us how we used to be
Everybody's searching for a hero
People need someone to look up to
I never found anyone who fulfilled my needs
A lonely place to be
And so I learned to depend on me
[Chorus:]
I decided long ago, never to walk in anyone's shadows
If I fail, if I succeed
At least I'll live as I believe
No matter what they take from me
They can't take away my dignity
Because the greatest love of all
Is happening to me
I found the greatest love of all
Inside of me
The greatest love of all
Is easy to achieve
Learning to love yourself
It is the greatest love of all
I believe the children are our future
Teach them well and let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty they possess inside
Give them a sense of pride to make it easier
Let the children's laughter remind us how we used to be
[Chorus]
And if, by chance, that special place
That you've been dreaming of
Leads you to a lonely place
Find your strength in love
I believe the children are our future
Teach them well and let them lead the way
Show them all the beauty they possess inside
Give them a sense of pride to make it easier
Let the children's laughter remind us how we used to be
Everybody's searching for a hero
People need someone to look up to
I never found anyone who fulfilled my needs

And so I learned to depend on me
